flatspots at high revs

Featured Replies

Hi guy's new to this fantastic site. I have just purchased a 05 plate mk1 octy vrs from a local main dealer she has 60k with full history. Anyway after going for a thrashing this weekend i have noticed that it flat spots in second and third gear at 5200 rev's best way to describe this is like hard acceleration in diesel it just seems to hit a wall.

Car still got years warranty but just wondered if any one had any comments such as this is normal and change gear earlier!!

Welcome to Briskoda :)

Try a post in the Octavia I forum for more info, but tbh I'd say that's the limit in those gears. Peak horsepower in mine was at 5,900 rpm in 4th on the rolling road. Change up earlier!

welcome along, i would suggest posting in the correct section for a faster response.

Welcome :)

Hiya.

It sounds wrong to me. As others, post in the Octy 1 forum, and could you expand on whether it loses power and picks up again (a flat spot), or just loses power like you're running into a soft rev limitter when you do?
