exhaust control system warning light

Featured Replies

driving home tonight(nice and gentle as well i might add) a warning light flashed up. Exhaust control system is what the lamp is for after reading the manual.

Anybody any idea what the causes could be. Is it something to do with emissions or the cat maybe, or is it something to do with the air intake??

Sounds like an exhaust valve sensor to me - I had this twice on two separate cars. If it's under warranty, Skoda should fix it FOC.

I had this light appear not so long ago, took the car back in under warranty and all they did was a software update and i've never had the fault light appear again

going to take her to my local garage tomorrow. Hoefully it is nothing. Cheersguys

Scan it with your Bluefin.

Could well be Intake manifold runner control.

My light came on the other day and I took it to the garage. They scanned it and said it was an exhaust pressure sensor but that they are in back order so can not get it sorted until later this month. After leaving the garage I went over some speed humps about 2 miles down the road and the light went out. Been out for the last week but still getting it changed on waranty when the part comes in.

had the car in to skoda already today, they fixed my rear internal light which randomly broke fell out under warrantee,

When they checked the cause of the warning light, They informed me that it was due to a gas vapour bubble entering the engine. They said it was entirely random(possibly causd by low fuel level, although i filled up last week and still half a tank left), but not to worry as no problem had been caused as the ECU had sorted it immediately, all the warning light was doing was flashing up to let them know what had occured.

They have however said that if it does come up again they will have a much closer look to remedy it.

You should invest in VCDS ;)

your not wrong there. Its on my long list of things i want to buy. Roll on the next tour thats what i say. Get me loadsa wonga for the habit.

how much are the VCDS or is it just software for a laptop???

Agreed VCDS would be great, i got a random CEL today but it hasnt come back since it was cleared.

I dont think the VAG bluefin can scan codes, mine doesnt give the option. I think thats Ford only.
