Ok, so I need a fixed IP - What is the best option?

SWMBO's laptop will have done a lookup on the updated IP - your PC may still have the old IP cached - Assuming you're using windows, try:

ipconfig /flushdns

..in a command prompt window. (UAC elevated command prompt window in vista)

Now try again & see what happens....
