Interior Vibration Noises! HELP!

Featured Replies

Hi all, since owning the car i've had a vibrating noise coming from the nearside rear door/central divider between the two doors.

It usually happens while setting off or pulling through 2nd and 3rd gear whilst the engine is under load. If i rev upwards towards 2500rpm and the engine smooths out it dissapears.

Has anyone else suffered from this, and found out what the problem was.

Its not the front doors electric motor clip, thats been secured.

The car doesnt have rear electric windows as its only a base model, hope someone can help me with this. May try getting some video up if it helps of the area the noises are coming from.

It drives anyone in the passenger seat mad, aswell as myself. I just usually drown it out a little with the music.

Have you got a jumbo box? I was going nuts with a rattle, turned out it was my shades in the jumbo box

Im afraid not auditek, its actually coming from around the rear door or just infront of it. Its rather loud and defined (not sure if this is the correct way of wording)

Many Thanks for your input though!

the easiest way to track down the noise is to sit in the back with someone else driving and have a good listen and prod away at the trim to identify the source. It could also be as simple as a tyre/wheel out of balance or gone out of shape.

Im affraid i've already prodded about at the trim, and cannot find the source to the problem.

Its not the wheels that are out of balance, as i bought a new set of balanced wheels just over a month since.

well those noises seem to upset you so they must be really loud...

my 2c...

firstly check:

eyeglass storage compartment if something is moving there :)

in general empty the car with your stuff

change position of seats, maybe seat is rubbing the console

and take it for a drive...

if noises are still there try the dealer...

i hope you do not have any hard aggressive racing suspensions with lower springs on your 105 hp beast :)...if you do have then you might want to consider a set of comfortable and absorbing ones so interior is not suffering that much from all the outside shocks...

Many thanks for your input, i do have Eibach Springs, they are relatively progressive and dont give a crashy ride. Although I had the same occurence on the rather soft towing springs.

The problem only seems to occur when pulling through the gears at say 1500-2500rpm (1st and 2nd gears) & usually from a standing start or whilst performing a hill start.

Whilst sat in the passenger seat the noise seems to come from the nearside rear door, or maybe a little further infront.

I dont have rear speakers or rear electric windows, the only thing i havent tried as of yet is to put the windows down into the doors and see if the same occurs.
