Help needed please. Battery removal.

Featured Replies

I need to change the battery iin my 1999 1.6 Octy, but can't find how to remove the fusebox that sits on the top. I've undone the battery terminal and the clip on the front of the battery, but the fusebox still won't budge. Anyone got any ideas please

Thanks in advance for any help

On the 1.8 there is a release clip at the back, press it in and lift the fuse box upwards to release.

thanks for the reply. I can't see a clip at the back, just the bundle of wires. I think I'll have to remove the air filter box.

Actually I was wrong about that....sorry. the clip at the back releases the wires from the battery housing.

Think the clips are either side to release. Trying to do this from memory as I'm not near the car.

Hooray!...removing the air filter lets me move the wires enough to get the battery out. Only problem now is that the new battery I've got is slimmer than the old one and there is not enough room between the ternionals for the fuse box to sit........
