Rear Brakes stay lit ater engine turned off

Featured Replies

Hi

2002 Fabia 1.2.

The rear brake lights remain lit even after car is turned off, locked and driver standing outside. (No foot on the paddle) could it be a sticky switch? how do I replace?

Thanks

Brake switch faulty. Switch twists to the left and just pulls out of the holder on the pedal assembly. Brake lights don't go through ignition circuit, so always live.

Thanks, Will change it. Is that left looking to the front of the car of with your head on the floor looking towards the paddle?

Yes indeed.

Your brake lights are probably on all the time, so it might be adviseable not to drive it :)
