Found the problem, now for the solution.

Hi all on my dads octavia changed plugs on friday and has now got a terrible misfire

Its a 2.0 8v. I have had anoher look today and in cylinder 4 the plug was not in all the way down. So removed cleaned threads greased threads on plug and it will now not go in correctly.

Which now leads me to believe its cross threaded does anyone now know what the solution would be?

If the threads are pretty bad you would brobably need to helicoil the head or if it was just the first thread you could always try and get a hold of the correct tap and try and recut the threads. You would just need to make sure any swarf from the recut thread was removed from the cylinder.

Helicoil is the best way of repairing torn threads. This can be done without removing the cylinder head, but as Stevos said the swarf has to be removed from inside the chamber.

Out of the four i'd say number four is the easiest to put in, how did that get cross threaded?

However at least you have some room to play but its not alot.

I think it just went in wrong and that was that where is the best place to buy the helicoils and or a tap

You need Helicoils the tap and the fitting tool and the right size drill. You can buy a kit from 'Recoil' RS sell this for about £60 +VAT. The procedure is to drill out the existing hole, tap and fit the 'helicoil' and knock out the tang of the coil. The problems are that you need to get the drill alignment correct and when drilling and tapping you will create swarf, which you need to clear out of the cylinder. When you knock the tang off of the coil it will fall into the cylinder.
