Track Tyre

Featured Replies

I've no experience with the track tyre, but i used to use the SS595's on the front of my astra coupe turbo...didn't do too bad holding upto 200bhp. Did quite well in the corners too.

So can only imagine these will be a decent tyre for a track day. Bearing in mind you dont want to be paying the extra the Toyo 888's cost?

Wouldn't want to be using them for general driving though, i've been tempted to stick some of these on my old 17" wheels.

Thanks Browny37, I'm planning sourcing a second hand set of wheels to put them on, if these work out then its whole lot more affordable. If you do stick a set of them on your 17s let me know how you get on. I want to get this done before the summer for a couple planned track days so best start sourcing a set of cheap wheels.

you can get toyo 888 for 116 from camskill worth the extra money a tyre that has been proven:thumbup:

Would probably depend how serious he's going to be on the track. I probably wouldn't be that bothered about going for the best track tyres if its purely out of fun.

Yeah I dont think my driving warrants a set of R888s yet, maybe when it comes to the end of its life as aroad going vehicle I intend on purely just tracking it then I could consider some R888s
