Question of Sporting Warranties : Home or Away?

Featured Replies

I've been looking for 2nd hand Skoda Roomsters for the last couple of weeks and the local dealerships all have a bad reputation. The nearest best ones are about 90 minutes in different directions.

I'm happy to go further afield to buy but what happens to warranties and servicing? If the car is less than 3 years old, can I go to any Skoda dealer garage and any warranty work done or do I have to go 70 miles each time?

Sorry for my naivety, I imported my last car from new and have just driven it (had no need for warranty work) and had it serviced at the garage at the bottom of my street.

Any dealer can / will do service and warranty work in my experience.

I bought my Octy in Chesterfield and had it serviced / worked on in Preston, Colne and Harrogate!

I bought my Fabia in Bradford, and have had it serviced in Colne.

Yep or indeed any garage/mechanic with the equipment can work on your car. The warranty should be unaffected as long as you are using manufacturer approved/orig parts.

The Warranty is with Skoda UK, not any individual dealer
