Any suggestion welcome

Featured Replies

I have a Silver Octavia 1.9 TDI Ambient with a set of 17" alloys from a Audi A3, I have had a custom remap and fitted a Pipercross panel filter. Last year I bought some interior trim from Milotec. I have got around £500 burning a hole in my pocket and iching to spend it on my car. Are there any upgrades/mods that you can suggest. I would like if possiable to get a number of things for my money, but if all goes on one thing it wont be an issue.

The only limit is the budget.

Cheers

I had a little boot lip spoiler fitted when I had my Octy II - http://briskoda.net/octavia-ii/my-rear-end/87420/

£141 from Skoda - ?koda Accessories - and around £80 - £100 for painting and fitting

I got lucky and got mine cheaper off Ebay but don't think they come up often. Or maybe go for a similar aftermarket one

Andy thanks for the suggestion. The spoiler looks great.

twin chrome exhaust as well  as i remember the standard exhaust looks abit, well, erm diesel taxi like.

Power is nothing without handling :)

Neuspeed or Eibach Anti Roll Bars from the Golf V / vRS will go straight on and help you make better use of the remap. Or you could even perhaps squeeze a set of eibach springs and koni FSD shocks out of £500.

Would go along with that ....Neuspeed rear arb is a very nice addition ...and makes a lot of difference

Seconded; you beat me to it Fluffmeister with your suggestions.

On the anti-roll bar theme, I'd suggest an uprated rear bar only to neutralise some or your (inherant) understeer; the 27mm APR bar (for the Golf Mk V / vRS) is the best. I have recently switched to this from a 25mm Neuspeed bar and even on the medium setting (its adjustable) it gives more assistance than the Neuspeed bar on its stiff setting. :D

I think the budget is too tight for eibachs and FSDs but would stretch to FSDs on their own OR you could do eibachs and a rear antiroll bar.

Forget anything cosmetic. ;)

Hmm,

would be perhaps worth considering a Whiteline Anti Lift Kit and powerflex bushings which would help your traction.

Rear anti roll bar takes about 20 minutes to fit, I have done a few and am in Warrington, you buy it, I'll fit it :) Or I will drink tea while pointing you in the right direction.

For a good deal on Eibachs speak to Kate at JKM in portsmouth (they are a site sponsor).

neuspeed's may be a little more expensive now because of the $ £ exchange rate, it is a worthwhile addition to the Mk2 Ocy as the standard ARB is tubular / hollow iirc.

... but the neuspeed one is hollow too? as is the APR one.

I didn't think it was hollow, I know the Neuspeed one on the vRoomster is a solid bar. could be my memory of course :)

Weighs less than 5kg so it is hollow

My memory then :) the vRoomsters is solid though. That said, the standard arb is made from papiermache' the neuspeed from metal :)

Cheers Fluffmeister for the offer. I am going to speak to Kate at JKM and get back to you.

You can also check balancemotorsports for Whitelines.

the whiteline ARBs are alot cheaper than the competition, have a gr8 rep and are also adjustable, and available as rear only.

with 500 notes id look at the whiteline anti lift kit and whiteline rear ARB. You could buy both and get them fitted for less than 500 queen quids, mybe leaving enpough money to get a good set of brake pads fro reduced fade. traction would be hugely imrpoved wiyth those to especially in cornering

It won't fit. :thumbdwn:

The Octy II is based around the Golf Mk V; the one you have found is for Golf Mk IV.

Easiest way to search for suspension parts for the Octy Mk II vRS (TDI and TFSI) and others is to search for Golf Mk V GTi - all parts will fit the Octy.

Adjustable? Depends if you want to 'play' with your handling setup.

Considering you are trying to neutralise understeer created (in part) by the lump of a TDI engine I'd suggest the stronger the better; so 24mm adjustable if it can be squeezed in within budget. :D;)
