My estate has just passed 105k and even though it has a full Skoda history the previous owners (lease company) seemed to miss extended oil changes-it was serviced at 19k, 50k 80k:eek:. In the 12k I have owned it I got the local dealer to change the oil and then did a change myself 2k ago. The car does not smoke and does'nt use any oil. My intention is to keep the motor for a few years but fear that due to so few changes the turbo could go pop at any time taking with it the cat, pipes and engine itself if unlucky.

It is my intention to get a new turbo fitted and have been quoted £1200.00 by the dealer:eek:

I have been offered a new turbo for a BJB @ £250 but my engine is a BKC, are they compatible or is fitting a new turbo a waste of time. Thanks.

If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

If the car is standard you probably have more chance of it being rear ended that the turbo going.

What makes you think it's not had the missing services? Is it possible it's had them but the service book hasn't been stamped?

would seem very odd practice not to as i doubt any one could put up with driving about with the car telling you it constantly wants servicing and i really cant see them going out of there way to have the service indicator reset if they cant be bothered have the car serviced
