Climate backlight.......

Featured Replies

Is there anyway, apart from altering the wiring, of making the Climate control panel and screen stay lit even when lights are off?

Can't think of any way to do it without messing around with the wiring.

At the moment it will have a live feed from the light controls so it comes on when the sidelights are on. You would need to change that to a live feed from the ignition, so it is on when the ignition is on regardless of whether the sidelights are on or not.

Will probably take a feed from the radio as thats ignition live.

By the way, Pikey Mods 1+2??? What would they be?

Pikey mod 1 is the Audi wheel arch venting :)

Pikey mod 2 is the Cage mod :)

There is a Pikey mod 3 but I can't remember what that one is... think it might be drilling the airbox

Cage mod?

I have pikey 1 + 2 as well

Top mods for virtually no outlay.

Talk me through these mods as I dont believe I have either of them!

Cage mod?

Dielectric grease in the MAF connector. Seals the electrical connections from air and water. You need to clean the contacts first with electrical contact cleaner and then totally fill the connectors with said grease.

Mine cost me about £19 from Audi (no B&Q barbeque grilles here :D)

Can just about see it below:

Not sure if it helps at all though, only fitted it last Autumn so need to do some BHP runs in the summer when the weather's warmer.

What does both mods do or allow? I guess the drilled arch liner allows air to flow through the intercooler better?

The cage mod improves the electricity flow through the MAF connector, not really a performance mod but helps it run smoother and can help if you have MAF troubles.

The wheelarch vent mod allows warm air that builds up behind the intercooler to escape into the wheelarch so theoretically you have a nice straight flow of cold air from front to back straight through the intercooler.

You could probably vent the other wheelarch too if you have a CAI, might let any hot air around the CAI filter cone escape.
