Cracked Seat belt mount on door pillar

Featured Replies

Weird problem this and only noticed when cleaning the interior of the car, but it looks like the mount that the seat belt loops around on the door pillar, which is made of plastic is cracking on both my Drivers and Passenger side.

Has anyone had to replace the front seat belts on an Octavia before? Really is strange and I can only assume it is where the plastic has gone brittle over time but is a little worrying.

Can you get a picture for me?

I have got a couple of pics, both of the passenger side, almost impossible to get a good shot using a Nokia E71 in a dark garage.

Other than the cracks the belts seem to be in good condition and not stretched so don't think its accident damage.

That will be just an outer covering, the loop inside is of course metal and very solid.

Ahh thats what we were thinking when looking at it, but wanted to double check.

Seems to happen on other cars I have had, but not as bad as this seems to be.
