MK 1 Octy Estate Aerial Fitting

Chaps

HAving had the misfortune of having some thieving to$$er take the mast from my car, I have found to my cost that it shouldn't have been removed.

Now I have ordered a complete new unit but need to know how to access the base unit on the roof by removing the headlining.

Where are the screws which allow the removal of the trim? Is it going to mean taking the rear trim apart as if I'm replacing the rear speakers?

Any help would be appreciated

You don't need to remove the headlining, just remove the plastic trim at the back of the roof so the headlining hangs down a bit. Then there will be just enough room to get to the nut that holds the aerial base in place.

What bit was taken, if the base is still attached to the roof and intact all you need is the whip part of the aerial and there will be no need to remove the base.

Mannyo,

Thats what I've tried to replace, but the dealers have told me I've got to replace the whole lot
