Web Host for a large website!

Featured Replies

Ok, making a website full of 1000's of photos (10gb at least) needing a good reliable cheap host with plenty of webspace, who do you recommend?

Cheers!

Depends how much traffic you will be transfering each month! Hosts that claim unlimited storage and bandwidth are overselling, counting on the fact you will not use any where near that amount. Most will suspend your account before you even get close!

If you are storing 10Gb and only using a small amount of bandwidth each month i would go with a basic shared hosting package. If you are hosting 10Gb and shifting 50Gb a month then your going to need a dedicated box or a very high spec'd shared package.

I use hostgator.com, i have always found them very reliable, the support superb and very cheap! While they claim to be unlimited they actually have a policy, you wont get into trouble unless you physically crash the server. If you are deemed to use too much, they simply move your site to another server with equally hungry people. If i was going with hostgator, i would go with the reseller package as those are not over sold and that is actually what you get!

I'm with 1&1, have been for years, never had any problems :)

http://www.fuzioned.com A very good mate of mine and very repuitable, worth mentioning that Waller sent you to see if the knock a bit off too ;) Already fairly inexpensive though
