My first time in limp mode...ugh

Featured Replies

Hey hey,

On my way home tonight, i spent about 5miles stuck behind a slow car, when i seized an opportunity to chance to get past.

I slotted into 3rd pulled out and accelerated hard from about 40mph, at about 60mph i hit what felt like a brick wall, the power just stopped coming, the front dipped. Lucky for me, i was past the car and i put it in 6th and carried on my way with "???" on my forehead. ( :P)

The next dual carriageway came, and i thought i'd see if all was ok, so WOT through 1st, 2nd & 3rd to find i was in limp mode :(

A quick pull over, turn off & on again got my turbo back.

I've done a VAGCOM scan and the following is the result:

Should i be worried? Did i catch the ECU out by going grandpa mode to hooligan mode in the blink of an eye?

I'll be mentioning it at the service that is due sometime in the next couple of months, but should i go badger the dealer sooner?

Ta,

MPM :D

Is the car remapped?

The wiki gives that fault code as a wiring fault, so I'm not sure.

In terms of your problem I'd say check the dump valve isn't stuck closed or split open.
