Whilst fitting my new panel filter last night I noticed a bit of rubber going over the cold air inlet. I worked out that it was the seal that goes between the pipe and airbox and tried to tease it back but managed to snap it In my defence the rubber was all cracked and brittle!

I have now removed it completely, is this going to cause any problems? My thought was a tiny amount of hot air getting in around the pipe but nothing else?

On a side note, after lifting the airbox lid I found quite a sizable insect on top of the filter :eek: Only reason it was still there was its wing was nipped between the rubber seal on the filter and the airbox lid. Would that have caused problems if/when the thing made it into the air intake?

Would have got shredded by the turbo - but probably wouldn't have done your turbo blades any favours!
