Single Mass Flywheel Kit For Octavia II 1.9Tdi ?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I think i need a new smf kit for my octavia II 1.9tdi. I had her remapped last year and the clutch / flywheel slips if i give her the beans, and also the roughness at takeoff is majorly p-ing me off. i've learned to drive around it, but i've always got that niggling doubt that the flywheel and clutch are going to tear themselves to peices one of these days. i dont rag the car much, and really only use the extra power for motorway overtaking.

I've been trying to source the necessary parts since i'm pretty sure my local dealer will charge me a kings ransome to do it (just lost my job, so need to do this cheap as poss) but nowhere that i've been able to find does a replacement kit for my car, instead only offering kits for MK1 octy's. I think the engine code is BXE (sound right?).

Anybody got a direction that they can point me in? I've looked everywhere i can think of, and i'm drawing a complete blank. I dont need some super duper lightened flywheel pro-racing getup, just something that'll handle up to 150 bhp without crapping itself and costing me even more money!

Cheers and beer owed :)

bump - lots of looks and no responses. come on guys, i could really do with some help here :o

A Skoda Dealer told me they do one for the MK II PD105 for taxi's. They said it was sourced from skoda.

I want one too soon but still under warranty.

I was offered an SMF under warranty by the dealer after having multiple DMF's go, but they then found it was only available for the 1.9 engine so I got another (much improved this time) DMF on the car.

so your saying my only option may be to go to the dealers? that'll be lovely and cheap - not :(

£230 fitted at the stealer's, thats how much mine cost

Which is a bargain compared to the cost of a DMF and clutch.

 that was cheap. Is it genuine Skoda parts?

Yes it was fitted by Chathams in Edinburgh:thumbup:

So with the smf fitted after having a dmf (not with the knocking noise) can you tell the difference....i.e noise ...bite...vibration.

When I picked mine up after having it changed, I started it up and thought i had gone death:)

Its really quiet and no vibration at all, smooth gear changes, and it seems to have more power:confused: oh and the fuel consumption is around 4 to 5 MPG better:)

Tell your dealer its a taxi now and you will get the job done for the £230 all in

Hi, Matrzweb! How you solved your clutch question for BXE engine? Do you stay with original DMF or converted to SMF?
