Rotten door posts

Featured Replies

Right this is hard to explain without pictures but I'll get some up tomorrow. Started back into the Estelle a few weeks ago. Started stripp the rest of the drivers sill only to find a good proportion of the floor is rotten. So we have most it cut out and a patch here and there welded in. We are lucky we have the full rollcage in to keep the car good and rigid while we cut so much away. Anyway i came across a curious bit of bubbling on the insid of the bottom of the door post. With a bit of a poke it goes the whole way through to just above the jacking point. Is there any neat way of fixing this or should i just patch over it and hope it goes away. Pictures soon to follow

Well we patched over the hole, but rather badly. The roll cage is in the way. So our plan is to complete the sill work first, then remove the roll cage to do a better job on the door posts. I'll try and find a few photos.
