iPhone 3g number problem?

Featured Replies

I purchased a PAYG iphone in early jan and have a small problem which is bugging me.

I was on Orange but now having moved to O2 i kept my original Orange number and it was transfered after a couple of weeks. The problem is for the 1st couple of weeks i was using the original supplied O2 number that came with the phone before my Orange was transfered over.

If i now go into setting it shows my O2 number not the number i transfered over. When i make a call my transfered number comes up.

I was told it would take a few weeks to show on my phone so my proper number is shown not the old number, but it has been months now.

I have tried taking the sim out and making a call with that in another phone as i was told this would solve the problem.

Hope this makes sense.

My iPhone also has my old orange number - where in settings are you seeing the number? i was going to see what mine shows but cant see the number in settings.

If you go into Setting-phone then is shows up at the top.

It'll be getting this from the SIM card.

Sounds like the SIM update when the number transfered, didnt update the SIM record of the number.

I;ve got the same problem with my T-mobile G1 after transferring my number. I don't let it worry me

Going to pop iinto a O2 shop and they can give me a virgin sim card so i can get my details put on new sim and all will be fine then.

Would be my suggestion although its been a few years since I messed about with SIMs and CLIs on the Vodafone network. Your existing number assigned to a new SIM card should fix it.
