12v socket replacement

Featured Replies

I'm looking to replace the 12v socket as it looks like some absolute moron has put a Haribo or something in the socket, pushed down the lighter socket and its caused a horrid sticky mess in there where it's all melted. Previous owner seems to have been a total muppet, knackered some of the dash to pull the broken rear screen button out even though it's under warranty. Damage to the under trays as well, Skoda quoted 151 quid to replace them. So does anyone have any idea how difficult this job is and has a part number for the actual socket (the one next to the handbrake)?Cheers!

Don't know where the hell the paragraphs have gone so sorry for the long speech.

Pull fuse for cig lighter before starting. Undo all fasteners and lift the centre console. There are wires to handbrake, ashtray light and cig lighter pull off and lift console out. A normal ring screwed around lighter cylinder holds it in place. Don't know about Skoda replacement, but there are lots of identical ones available.. If it is a sugar sweet jammed in it, just put in a pan of hot water and it will slowly dissolve. HTH
