If you are suffering from a crashy ride over pot holes and speed bumps, go get your tracking checked. Had mine done today and it has transformed the ride quality. No more rattles bangs and shakes. Feels like a new car again.

Well sorry Ric but transformed the ride, it has. Making it toe in as it should obviously makes a big difference.

If the wheels are running straight and in line there would be less stress on all the running gear.

but the track optimum setting is straight ahead , 0+/-1mm

I'd think the only reason that sorting the alignment fixed the crashing suspension noises would be that the suspension ended up being fully extended and/or fully compressed while this work was being done - so its had a bit of extreme "exercise". I agree totally that sorting out any mis-alignment would only affect the "feel" or general handling
