Unjamming rear door

Featured Replies

A while ago I succeeded (as in big FAIL!) to jam my nearside rear door shut whilst changing my door handles over.... Pretty sure I turned the wrong T20 clockwise too much and it made a CLICK when shutting and is now jammed shut.

So far, I have managed to get the door card off without breaking it, and undone the door skin. It's still attached to the window mechanism though via rivets. I can almost get a hand in toward the door lock mech, but not sure what to fiddle for to re-open the door.

On the verge of taking it to Skoda I'm that annoyed with it. [sucks on scraped bleeding knuckle]

try popping the wire connecter off the handle.

operate external handle & you can see the wire n block just try levering this off.

Had same problem when I replaced the door on my octavia, discovered if its to tight it will jam the door shut with nither handle working.

With door jammed tight I can't access the handle from the outside as it's done up with the barrel in place. Whatever I have to do needs doing internally. :)

does the handle pull out as if you were going to open door?
