Featured Replies

right i know this may have already been covered but goin to ask anyway so feel free to point me in the right direction or offer your opinion!

just about to change the front brakes on my mk1 vrs octy and im looking at pagid pads and standard discs?question is what are you using/recommending?

also seen now you cant get pagid fast road so was lookin at a-line pagids?

want something giving good grip, low dust and not fading easily!i dont thrash the car around but if im going to re-place best do it with something a loittle better than the stanndard pads!?

The car is also a stage 1 at present and will prob stay at that for the forseeable future!

also names and numbers of best prices/suppliers!

cheers all:thumbup:

If you can't get the Pagids any more, I'd think about Ferodo DS2500, and maybe Black Diamond discs.

my vote goes for tarox g88s with the fast road pads. not cheap tho

anybody got/had any experience with either green stuff or mintex pads??

I'm running:

Front = Brembo HC discs & Pagid pads

Rear = Zimmerman discs & Mintex Xtreme pads

I've recently changed the front brakes, hence the pad mis-match. The standard Pagic pads from GSF seem fine to me. FYI Mintex/Pagid/Texar are all the same company now, and they no longer do their 'high performance' top of the range models (Xtremes & Fast Road).

BUT! If you look up the UK Pagid or Mintex racing websites, you will see they still make a huge range of performance pads. Not sure how that works company-wise, but it's confusing as hell to me!

PAGID Racing Brake Pads for Performance Sports cars.

Since fitting the Brembo discs and standard Pagid pads, I've had no fade or judder off them. A vast improvement over my old worn out discs with Mintex Xtremes!

Greenstuff = poo imho. Noisy, very dusty, fade very quickly and don't last very long. Most I've ever got out of a set is 5000 miles . Never tried mintex so can't comment.

I'm using Tarox .401 Rally+ Pads at the mo and love them. Good bite from cold and once they're warm, they really stop you well. I haven't experienced any fade from them either, even after 30 miles in one go around Cadwell Park!

:iagree: about Greenstuff, as do the staff at Awesome. I've used Mintex before with good results (lots of stop, next to no dust once loose stuff had come off the sides of the pads), but thought the same problems as with Pagid applied to fast road Mintex compounds.

Hi

Yes , I must admit , the dealings I have had with greenstuff have not been good , and not really reccomended them to anyone afterwards

There are much more out there that seem to be a bit more quality
