Alarm being fitted on Tue :D

Featured Replies

At last i may be able to sleep at night after i get my alarm fitted on Tuesday 14th, to my Octavia.

Gap security are fitting me a Clifford concept 650, which has got amongst other things Proximty sensing, which being that i dont have a garage, will be a good point.

Anyone here had a remote engine start alarm put in at all, just wondered how you may have found them to be?

Mind you @

Clifford Concept is well worth the money! I had the 500 on my Scooby and the proximity sensor scares the hell out of nosey people ;)

I've just got a DiskLok and if I was going to fit anything else it would just be BlackJax.......too many people ignore alarms....Trackers are too expensive and don't save you any money on insurance.

That said if a professional thief is going to steal your car......it will be stolen. :(

Yeah i agree with the last bit, but to be honest the main reason for the alarm is for when i upgrade th HU, etc etc, being that i have in the past been a victim of thievin scum trying to pinch an HU, i know what damage they will do trying to get in (bent window frame, smashed glass etc) and a proximty alarm will prevent this - i know coz i had a talking system on my last car, and low and behold 2:30am it went off, only to see a little T**T running off down the road!!!! So to a certain extent they do work.

Also worth looking at Securefix tinting film which will prevent the glass from being smashed from the outside. I believe they do clear "tints" so it is invisible, but obviously the more tinted you go (up to 35%) the harder it will be for them to see what HU you have in there........
