More good news!!!

Further to my leak update, I've also had all four alloys on my vRS replaced under warranty! :)

They were all exhibiting a degree of corrosion creeping under the laquer from the back edges of the spokes, two wheels quite bad with corrosion also under the laquer around the valve holes. The other two were not too bad but had tell-tale signs of things about to get worse.

Car is an '06 plate with 34k miles, all the wheels were otherwise undamaged - two of them still had the OE tyres on.

I was sure I had a good case for a warranty claim but I must admit I was half expecting Skoda UK's computer to say 'Noooo' at first, given that there was only 6 weeks of cover remaining.

Shouldn't have worried, dealer (Clock Garage, Derby) didn't make a fuss and after a couple of weeks of silence, phoned out of the blue to say new wheels ready to be fitted! :)

Last week they carefully put my new wheels on while I waited, only cost to me was a signature on the warranty form (and two unscheduled trips to the dealer).

Skoda 10/10, Dealer 10/10 (on this occasion!) :cheering:

Nice!! Must remember to do that before my final year of warranty is up!

This seems to be common with modern alloy wheels. Mates Mazda 6 had new alloys 18 months ago, and replacements have gone the same way, and he takes good care of his car. My previous Polo had alloy corrosion after 6 months (3,000 miles)

Result!!!!!!!!!

Similar story to Ian - corrosion on 56 plate alloys. Total dispair. Shouldnt have worried cos a quick visit to Alex Lawrie in Liverpool and within 2 hours a decision was made to replace wheels within a week! How good was that. 3 cheers for an excellent on the ball Skoda dealer. 11/10:)

Good to see :)

I would have expected them to put up a fight....

who would you get in contact for this, since ive just bought my vrs second hand, has a mark like this on one of the rims and its a 06 plate with 30k like yours, would be good to get another while i can...
