235/45 17 Tyres-Will they fit

Featured Replies

Has anybody run 235/45 17 on their car?

I know the speedo will be slightly out but i'm more concerned with the tyres fitting without to much rubbing. They will be on either a 7.5J or 8J unless people thikf they will fit on a 7J without problems.

They will be pushed hard on a whichever size rim as they are for track day use.

235s will fit ok on a 7J, but for track use I'd want to go as wide as I could on rims; certainly the 8", and maybe 8.5" or 9" rims. I'm not sure you won't be into potential arch clearance issues though, but if you are it'll be marginal, or due to changes in offset.

i thought 225's rubbed as it was on track? not that ive any experience of this

i run 235/45 R17 on lowered suspension and havent experienced any problems with them.

Any particular reason why you'd look to run these Jay? You seen a good deal on some?

I'd be inclined to stick with the normal 225/45/17 - they're the de facto, they work, so use them :)
