Roof bars for 2002 Fabia Estate

Featured Replies

I am hoping that somebody can help me. I have a 2002 Fabia Estate for which I would like to get a roof-rack. I have already searched this forum looking for guidance related to purchasing 'roof bars' and have followed the suggested links to different websites which sell them. However, I am a bit confused because my car does not have anywhere to attach the roof bars to (roof rails?) and so I am unsure what I need to buy. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you.

Roof rails are the parts that run front to back.

They are quite common on estate cars, but I know not all Fabia estates came with them as standard.

The roof rails are available as a Skoda accessory - part number LAH420001A. These have a list price of £130, and fitting won't be easy / cheap as you may have to remove the headlining and other interior trim.

The roof rails typically remain in position. When you actually want to carry anything, ou would fit cross bars which run across the width of the roof and clamp to the rails. Again, these are available as a Skoda accessory - part number LAT071024 and list price £102.99. These can be fitted and removed in about 5 mins once you get used to them. You can leave them on permanently but you will get increased wind noise and lower mpg.

Both parts are shown at ?koda Accessories

I'm not sure if there are any cheaper options - maybe someone else can advise or try your local dealer or Halfords.
