does anyone know the correct tyre size for 17" Roomster (or Scout) ??

Featured Replies

Hi, trying to suss out the wheel and tyre options for the roomster, I'm aware that 17" will fit, but I'm unsure on exactly what size and profile of tyre that Skoda fit as standard to the Roomster. I know there's a (Quite nice) 17" factory option on at least the Scout version, but I'm keen to explore alternatives too

Are they 215 / 40 / 17's

or 215 / 35 / 17's

(if indeed either of the above is right ). ........there may be more that one that fits, but which is most common on this wheel, and which do Skoda use

has anyone got these wheels ??

Thanks

Paul.

Thanks for the reply, do you have these on a Fabia ? and if so, did you buy them from a Skoda dealer as an aftermarket part or as part of the deal when you bought your car...... must admit, they look great..... and might just solve the problem of looking at aftermarket wheels, people seem to like the look of these

how much were they (if you don't mind me asking), did you get them with the tyres ?

thanks a lot for the help

Paul.

Has anyone tried alternate sizes to the factory fit 205/40/17? Mostly I'm wondering if one fitted 225/40/ or even 235/40/17 would there be rubbing issues? I would like to "fill" the gap between the tyre and the fender, without necessarily lowering the car or going up to 18" rims.

The Scout 17"s are on my vRoomster Scout and came as a factory fit option just before they became a generally available option in the UK

I have recently bought a set of Audi TT Comps sold by a member on here in 17" (below) that will have the same size tyres 205/40/17 to replace the std 16"s on my fabia. I paid £150 for the TT comps, £140 HERE for the refurb  and the rubber will be around £240

I'll see what they look like on the vRoomster beforehand too

One dumb question:

Are bolt patterns on Roomster 5x100, or 5x112?

BTW, how do 205/40/17 tyres feel on the road? A bit stiff? I'm definitely feeling a difference between 205/55/16 on my Octavia and 205/45/16 on the Roomster, although I can't say that Roomster feels uncomfortable.

5x100

Those other sizes for 17" tyres are all wrong, to increase the wdith you would need to maintain the % aspect ratio, so they would be 225/35/17 or 235/30/17. 225s may go on, but I would think 235s would be to wide for the oem wheels.

Skoda have told me that these rims should take 225 three, and yet aftermarket rims on the net seem to show 205's

Which is correct, is there an option ? What should I do ?

Thanks

Yes I know, but that is of no significance to me, as we are going the "right way" regarding the speedo. I.e. with the larger tires the car will be traveling slower than what the speedo shows. See table below.

As the car is rather "bulky" I would like that the rubber is in "balance" with the rest of the car. I think it would look silly with too low a profile in the tires. Like a SUV with low profiles tires.
