Wiper problem

Featured Replies

Hi have a quit annoying problem with my front window wipers. First they where going randomly over the window without stopping, and if they stopped then in random place, changed first wiper engine, didnt help so much, changed relay and all was nice, then after 2 weeks driving, they stopped just died. Of course it happend during a long tripp 200km away from home, wet cold winter nigth... Managed to find out that the fuse was burned, changed it and imidiatly it burned again. Opend the relay and it looked all normal there.Any one who have a clue what can be wrong?? Maybe the new engine is wrong or some short cut in other place??

Thx for reply :)

Wiper linkage siezed most likely. Do a search as there is loads on it. Think it can be cleaned up and greased to cure the problem but it may require a new linkage depending on amount of corrosion

actually I didn't read your post right I don't think. If they wouldn't stop after cancelling I think it may be the wiper stalk needs replacing. Again do a search as these problems have been covered several times.

Wiper linkage issues generaly cause the wiper speed to slow down first and become quite juddery on one (or both) strokes.

Sounds most likely to be a stalk issue to me.
