VRS alarm test?

Featured Replies

Whats the best way of testing the alarm works, and don't say smash a window!!

I just want to know what it sounds like so if it ever goes off I know its mine! Doesn't it activate if the door is left open for a certain amount of time and ignition key not inserted or something?

Well I left my windows open and the car locked the other day just to let it air a bit.

Next thing I hear is the alarm going off. I look outside my window and the cat had jumped in the car, he was crapping himself and couldn't get out fast enough haha

I've heard some people sit in the car with a balloon and set the alarm then pop the balloon, I beleive this tests if the windows has been broken.

This all could be wives tales but you never know....

The alarm sounds exactly the same as most other cars.

Get the wife/girlfriend to sit in the car, lock it with the fob, wait 30 seconds and if when she moves the motion sensors will activate the alarm. Press unlock on the Fob to deactivate. Its pretty loud when it goes off, I crapped myself a little bit :o

Yeah, I find I accidentally 'test' mine every time I fill up and leave my toddler in the child seat in back when paying but having fogotten to switch off the internal sensors first before locking it - it normally goes off just as he waves goodbye to me as I step absent-mindedly through the door, wallet in hand... :)

Sit in the car.

Lock it.

Hit the lock button again.

This takes it off dead lock.

Open the door and your alarm will sound.

Lock the car but leave the window open, then stick you head through the space (like a thief trying to open the glove box for example).

That or as mentioned above lock the girly in the car. I find that can result in a back eye however.

Hit the lock button again.

Open the door and your alarm will sound.

I thought hitting the lock button twice turned off the deadlocks AND the alarm?

So if you lock your car (press button once), it locks is, and dead locks it?

Then if you press it a second time, it takes deadlock off?

What happends if im in the car and its deadlocked? Could I get out?
