Changing Front ARB Bushes, easy?

Featured Replies

Going to be changing my front arb bushes to superpro ones tomorrow. Can I just jack up a side, support with an axel stand and change the bush. Then drop it and change the other side. What I mean does the bar need to be not under load when changing. Do I need both wheels in the air when changin it?

Support on axle stands

Remove front wheels

Disconnect arb link from arb

Turn the steering wheel to one side as it's easier to get at the bolt that holds the clamp/bush in place.

You may need to prise the clamp out with a large flat screwdriver.

Use plenty of grease and then refit.

You may find it difficult to get the clamp to squeeze back up so you can get the bolt back in.I used a set of large pliers or a small 'G' clamp can be used.

Tighten up and do the same on the other bush.

Get new bolts and brackets first.

Don't do whatI have done, and strip the thread on the bolt.

U would happen to have the part numbers for the brackets and bolts

Clip (Bush bracket) X 2 1J0 411 336 D pretty certain the bolts came with them

I think they are

Bracket 1J0411336D

Bolt N 10101603 hexagonal head bolt M8X18

mmm do you need the new bolts and brackets?

I did mine over a year ago and just used the same ones, mine is an 05 car if it makes any diff?

mine is still fine.
