Octavia vRS Mk 1 - fault code read-out

Featured Replies

well i today got my fault codes read and there was only one fault code stored on the car, which i thought was pretty good...

although the code which came out was not so good

17705 p1297 035

connection charger-throttle valve

pressure drop

-

sporadic fault

could someone explain what this means please and what the solution would be as the garage said it would cost 560 quid to repair and would be a new throttle body and 2 temperature sensors??

thanks

What sort of garage has given you that diagnosis and estimate?

This is what the Ross-Tech Wiki says for that fault code:

im thinking cleaning throttle body...where is valve n249?? might be worth a look at that

Its well covered on here if you search for that fault code.

However their diagnosis could well be right, it can be caused by those faults.

Clean and re-adapt throttle body usually works

so i cleaned the throttle body today. and its still not right, it feels better and i could see a breach in the gasket so replacing the gasket was definatly a good idea.

now ive got a new n249 valve and some hose to replace it but looking at it i cant figure out how you replace it or how you get to it??? i removed it from the inlet manifold but couldnt still get to the valve it wouldnt turn over...is there a special technique??

also where can i get the special hose clips from?? and if there is any advice i need before changing the valve, cheers
