Reversing sensor for Furbie RS ?

Featured Replies

We got our Furbie RS now 9 months and loving it everytime we are out in it. We orderd it with xenon and cruise, but forgot the reversing sensors or system. My local dealer said that the ones from skoda cant be fitted to the rs because of the missing black strip of plastic in the bumber and a certain wire what is not build in the RS. Has anybody tryed it or can give me any advise on this?

Many thanks

PS: By the way, great forum.

They can be fitted to the vRS. I think they drill holes in the rear bumper ( 4? ) and then fit the sensors.I believe there are a number of non Skoda kits available I have asked my dealer and they said they can do it. I wonder if they can colour code the sensors to match the bumper? My car is black anyway.

My dealer told me they can retro-fit reversing sensors to the Fabia vrs

I've been thinking about them for my car too... Not that I often feel the need for them, its just another gimick to add.

My wife has them on her car so she has asked me to fit them to the vRS.

Does anyone know the cost of a dealer fit ? Does a

We are both on each others insurance. We often drive each others car. She has got used to having them - useful in the multi storey carparks - horrible hard concrete walls ! As long as they merge with bumper colour I do not mind.

Fair enough JCM, I can see why they would be useful in that situation. I've got them on my Octavia and they are useful(ish). I'd like them on the front too :)

I Know you put a :) on your post but ........

Actually on the front would be very useful. I often find the distance from the front bumper to a fence , wall or what ever difficult to estimate. ( even with the seat raised )

No, I was actually serious. In fact, I'd find them more useful on the front than on the back for some reason. I'm predisposed to pushing my luck when going forward rather than going back :)

I notice that in the car park at work, those people with parking sensors tend to park 1 inch from my bumper, those without park 1-2 feet away therefore making my evening escape easier, and of less risk to their paintwork. Why is this?

..........and I've also observed that if you have parking sensors then you don't have to look over your shoulder, or check the mirrors whilst reversing!

Because people who don't rely on electronic gizmos to park are generally better drivers ;)

I think you are right, and I would like the audible alert tone to be loudly emitted from my car when they are getting too close!

i agree, however i still sometimes find it hard to judge distance behing when manouvering at the back rather than the front, only problem, a crash with sensors on either end will increase the price of the part significantly?

Agreed!
