Dear All,

I've seen only during the engine start, the engine jerks/violently shakes and then settles down to normal. Then I inspected the fastners which hold the engine, even those are also tight enough and I could not tighten more.

Could you advice what could be the problem? Or is it normal in SKODA Octavia - Desiel engines.

They do tend to shake into life a bit, particularly when you've either got a cold day and old glow plugs, or a day that's just warm enough to not engage them.

It should start more smoothly if you wait until the various electronic systems self-test lights start going out.

Just wait for glow plug light to go out, and then wait a further 10 seconds. Pretty normal though, and can be fairly brutal in winter.
