Fabia vRS 4WD

Featured Replies

I'm sure I'll be corrected by someone, but as far as I'm aware, the Fabia WRC is a WRC, the Octavia Rally car isn't WRC, it's something else...

Not quite sure what you mean. The Octavia raced in the World Rally Champs so it was called Octavia WRC. Or do you mean the road going one. I know Skoda brought out the Fabia special edition (think it was just called RS) so the rally one could compete. Something about the standard chassis being too short for the rule book.

Man I'd love a Fabia WRC......:o

The Fabia vRS was brought out because the Rally car was 4 meters long, and the standard Fabia wasn't.

4 meters???? thats a very long car!

The Fabia WRC is basically the same car as the old Octavia WRC but with a Fabia bodyshell on it as the Octavia shape changed, so it had to be a Fabia instead.

The running gear (Engine, gearbox/transmission, chassis) are basically the same as the Octavia WRC.

I very much doubt that any of it is actually from a road-going Fabia except maybe the badges.

13 feet? It's not so long as cars go.

Other way round, the rally car needs to be based on a car that's atleast 4 metres long, the standard fabia wasn't so they made the vRS then they could us the fabia for the WRC.

You think a Fabia vRS is a very long car?:confused: Is it the only car you've ever seen?

Neily - that's what I meant, just you phrased it better!
