Door Speaker Rattle

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My Fabia has a rattle coming from the driver's side front door speaker, or the trim around it...it is quite pronounced when I'm playing music (Symphony H/U, standard speakers etc), particularly anything with heavyish bass or drums (not drum 'n' bass though, I do have some taste!) or when driving over a rough road surface.

The rattle disappears when I put my hand on the speaker grille.

My question is, before I start pulling it all apart for myself, has anybody encountered this before and how do you solve it?

Many thanks,

Andrew

Yeah, it's a bit of a 'feature' IME... :(

I found that wedging stuff between the inside panel of the door and the door card sorted it, although you really ought to use proper soundproofing material...

Either that or hit it for a temporary fix  mine does the same

mine do it too and its really annoying

how do you get to the speaker, does the full door card have to come off or does the grill come off on its own

Door card off jobby. Its riveted in place on most models :thumbdwn:

I found you can just pull the bottom half of the panel off and wedge something (felt ?) in from below

wedge something where ?

wedge something where ?

Depends where its coming from, does it stop when you pull the door handle towards you? Mind does... or when you push it.

Pretty sure if i wedged something like a rolled up sweet wrapper () under the door card edge it would stop mine but i keep forgetting so i just hit it.

Or you could just pull the bottom of the door card free, prop it open on the seat bolster or something and see if you can find the cause
