simms suzuki, the worst maindealer on the planet?

Featured Replies

was reading about this on swiftowners, the guy is a mate of mine and this is what they did too his wheel when it went in for service and new brake pads:eek:

Sims Suzuki have done this to my wheels! - Swift Owners - Suzuki Swift Owners Club

it appears they screwed the locking wheel key up with the gun then decided to use some very questionable methods to get the wheel off.

i have to admit i've seen my fair share of shoddy dealer workbut this really is on a completly different scale

I'd be absolutely fuming

must admit i am suprised he has kept his cool, those wheels are his pride and joy,i would be baying for blood

I would ask for some sort of compensation for the damage caused

Blimey, that's just an unbelievable bodge...

i'm not condoning anything they have done , BUT , when locking wheel nuts fail , they are almost impossible to remove without damage to the wheel

i have had to, in the past, chisel off the remains of Mazda 6 locking wheel nuts , and by their very nature the nut is like chiselling rock, and damage did occur to the rim , iirc Mazda replaced the rim and nuts under warranty

i have also seen Ford Galaxy locking bolts stuck on , these are torqued to 170nm , the only way to remove them was to weld something on the end of the bolt to allow removal

it looks like they have tried to just gas axe those off on the Suzuki though :rotz:

thing is ric it was them who screwed the nearly new locking nuts up to start with:eek:

Fair play to Suzuki GB though for sorting it :)

All I got was the website registration page......

But if they screwed it up with the gun it's gonna destroy the bolts and damage the wheel.

So the dealer should rectify it.

I have seen some cars pull in to the tyre place near my mechanics but they have no idea if their cars have locking nuts or not.

The site has moved the thread to a members only section.

The wheel hub was also damaged by the dealers actions, so they will be replacing that too. An expensive lesson for someone that you don't use an airgun to remove a locking wheelnut.
