my MAF acctual mg are a lot higher than my specified MAF mg. almost double. but i do have an EGR delete valve.

read on a few reading the acctual reading is considerablly higher than the acctual.

It seems to me that your reasoning is correct. Whenever I test them, I record the readings on a test drive and play them back on VAG Scope. You can then easily see if the actual readings are significantly lower then the specified values.

Hi guys

Did you get MAF readings like the ones shown below? I'm trying to figure out if its correct as I seem to be getting a lot of black smoke! Actual reading is peaking out at about 1250ish.

It looks like it is over reading the amount of air going into the engine and fuelling for that amount, hence the black smoke as there is not enough air to burn it all. Usually when I see a failing air flow sensor, it is under reading the air and the car is down on power.

You need to log at WOT and then see what reading you get then - I've posted up the spec value somewhere up on Brisk if you do a search.

Bas, the section on the graph from about 284 to about 298 on the x axis is a WOT run in third gear. :) I'll have a search for the specs.

Just popped out and bought a new MAF and did another log WOT in 3rd gear and got exactly the same results as with the old MAF! so I guess the log is supposed to look like the above chart

Hello,

I want ask you what do you think about these values of a MAF. It's remap 1.8T AUQ. I think they are little low.

4680/min = 134,83 g/s

5520/min = 152,17 g/s

6240/min = 155,42 g/s
