Got a fantastic deal on a brand new octy L&K dsg 2.0,black(not facelift),collect on Thurs.

Any tips on running in the oil burner, apart from the obvious?

Well, you can go to the lengths described by Honest John, but to be honest, as long as you don't either rag it or let it bog down for the first couple of thousand miles, general consensus seems to be this is enough...

There are 2 way of thinking: to baby her or not.

I guess the safe way is not to let rpm above 2000 until cold, then I hardly shift gears until 3K.

I'd go WOT after some miles, anyway.

I've had two 2.0TDi DSG Audis. I've driven them from day one as I drive them now - mixed use with regular bursts to about 3,500 rpm. I have had no serious oil usage as a result - 1-1.5 litres before first service and even less afterwards.
