Octavia 2 4 x 4 v vRS Limited

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am new to the site and would appreciate your views. I bought my Octavia 1.9 105 bhp 4 x 4 new in 2005 and had active headrests, curtain airbags, xenons, and maxi dot fitted. It is the biz but I am being seduced by the vRS Limited diesel. Is this a good swap or am I just being swayed by cosmetics? I don't really need the extra power, but that interior looks a bit yummy.

My local dealership has just taken possession of a vRS diesel hatch and I will be taking it out: however, a test drive is a lot different to living with one.

Thanks to anyone who finds the time to reply.

the vRS isnt just about the power, its the package and value for money which is apealing. You'll want it when you drive it

I have come to the conclusion never to drive a car better than mine, unless I am willing to part with some serious dosh. If you are happy with what you've got then this is one of the times I wouldn't recommend a test drive.

It will be difficult to go back to a 1.9tdi, approx 70% less power, I should know, having had the 2.5v6 before the difference is quite noticeable, but if driving is properly planned the 1.9 is a good balance of power and economy.

Hear Hear! be prepared to part with your £££££.

Yes; the looks of the LE vRS are seductive, particularly the leather, but IMHO it is missing some vital 'extras' e.g xenon headlights and rear parking sensors; but if you are not concerned with this than it would be a damn fine choice.

However, can't help but notice you have a 4x4 Octy; why the 4x4? Do you need it? If so you ought to look at the Octy Scout; this has the 2.0L TDI 140 engine with 4x4.
