thinking about what oil to change in my car, mk1 vrs when i get it service was prob going to supply own oil wondered if there were any recommendations for what to use.

I thinks its 2 litres I need?

Is it best just to get VAG suff from the dealer which i think is recommended by most people or seeing as opieoils have the offer on 25% off is there any thing there worth getting seeing as I was thinking about getting some plugs and brake fluid off of them.

Defo go with vag oil. I made the mistake of using Fuchs and gear change was notchy. In the end i drained and used Vag oil and its smooth again.

I used some Fuchs semi stuff and it seems to be fine on mine.

Whats the VAG spec now? is it G50 or G52?

Ian its now G60 oil (part number G060726A2). I got two litres for £10.10 inc Vat, it was cheaper than the Fuchs stuff!
