Dragon Box Fitting

Featured Replies

Hi All,

A mate of mine has given me a secondhand Dragon box with the view to 'try before you buy'. He assures me it will fit and work fine (previous car it was fitted to was a Bora, PD130 I believe), but I wanted to double-check that on here.

Also...How the hell do you fit it? I'm pretty mechanically minded, but electronic tuning is not something I have any experience in. Any help or advice much appreciated.

Cheers,

Andrew

easy mate, disconect the plug from the side of the engine which is connected to the ecu, (red clip) then connect this to the box and then the box to the engine( where you have just disconeceted the first plug) and bobs your mothers brother!

Ta very much, I'll nip out and give that a go

then ya can also adjust the settings too mate. is it anologue or digital? i have the settings somewhere mate. i had a dragon on my last vrs, will have to get them again for ya though mate, at work at mo. shhhh lol

the Dragon box is relatively easy to fit , but, its not as simple to "just disconnect" the plug on the head, if you aren't sure exactly how to do it then you could damage the plug

PM'd you mate ;)

lol it is mate! i fitted one to my last vrs. simple. only a numpty could mess it up.

not everybody is as clever as you , and what i said still stands , if you don't know what you are doing you could wreck the plug connector

also, they state that the box should be fitted to a warm engine, which is difficult to do without scalding your hands on the block.

Sorry to off topic slightly... BUT. Are they any good? Or is a remap specially for the Fabia better?

i had one for a while.

definitely increased power, and didnt have much extra smoke.

however it used a fair bit more fuel and had an extremely annoying "stutter" at 1800rpm in 2nd and 3rd.

p torque remap much much better.

worth a shot at less than £150 though

Or £20 in my case...mate's rates ;)

Thanks for the input guys, haven't had a go at it yet as I've been doing training in my new job plus my computer imploded  hence the late reply...

I'm hoping I'll be all right as I used to work in a garage :)

Thanks again folks
