Quite pleased with the result actually - note the badge....!

Looking good. I did this on my black plus I put some mesh behind the centre lower grill.

Not sure it would be the same on a white one so I haven't bothered this time.

Welcome to the Colour Coded Grille Club :D

Looks much better

Nice touch with the badge as well

Cheers

Like that, looks great - nice badge too

Good job! How did you do the badge?

really suits it

Nice. Especially like it on the black ones.

On a slightly different (but related) tack - has anybody ever put a chrome grill surround on the lower grill so it matches the main upper one? Any pics you can direct me to? Whenever I look at the front end I think this would finish the look off nicely.

Never seen this done.

Ta :)

Badge is a sticker, stuck over the original badge - I wanted it to continue the black theme, managed to get it off a member here (will post details if anyone wants).

Quite tricky to get on without creases but just about managed it with one tiny one right at the outside - remains to be seen how durable it will be with water etc. The good thing is if it gets tatty I can just pull it off to reveal the brand new standard Skoda badge underneath ;)

I wasn't sure whether to do mine or not but I definitely am now!!

I shouldn't think he'd mind me posting as I found him referenced in another thread anyway.

Member name is 'KTP' - I received excellent service

It does look excellent on the black-uns :)

Nice job - looks really good.

Looks great. Very clean stealthy lines. Well done.

Looks alright, but I prefer the original.

Looks good, could you post details on how you did it. thanks

Think it works on the solid colours - black, red, yellow, (maybe), but I'm not sure I'd do it with my race blue one althought I've seen a post on here showing a blue one. The lights and chrome seem to work well together. Just my own view...

it makes the car look more menacing i reckon to the horrid chrome.

Has anyone doen this to a silver vrs? Is it just painted or is it a complete new grill?

Cheers

Looks great, love the colour coded badge.

I was thinking about doing my corrida red pne a few months back but thought the badge looked a bit out of place.

Now I've seen yours I think getting the badge done with all the green replaced with red for my car would look the nuts.

Could be onto a new common mod here....

There's quite a few threads on this so I won't go into too much detail, plus I cheated a little :)

Parts:

1) New chrome surround (unless you want to drive around with a big hole in the front of your car) - £25 delivered from ebay, but I think Damo might still have a spare. Around £50 from dealer.

2) New badge - got lucky and got one for £4 from eBay, usually around a tenner. Make sure you get the right one - mk1 will not fit.

The cheat part is that I got someone to spray it for me for £50. He used the 'key into it' method and it has come up brilliantly - a lot of people have done this themselves however to save some money.

Other than that it just needs fitting - quite straightforward, Stu's guide at octavia-vrs.com was all I needed plus a little patience.

the badges have now gone up, £13 from my local dealer!

Here's what the end result would look like, although with OE coloured badge;-
