trying to buy a used skoda and insurance Q

Featured Replies

Last May when i bought my 2nd Octy VRS it seems there were loads for sale and fairly cheap, now my current one has been wrote off after an accident and Im after yet another but the vast majority for sale on autotrader etc seem to be from dealers and is it just me but the prices for most VRS seem to be alot more than just a year ago? My last 03 plate corrida red VRS cost me 4500, it was in absolutely mint condition and had done 89k and had a sunroof, but it seems for the same money im struggling to get something similar and most are black and silver, I try to avoid the dealers on autotrader as Ive found most lie about the condition or some aspect of the car but even the private sales seem to want silly money for y reg or plates much older than 03.

Now will this play to my advantage as im waiting for the insurers to come back to me with a price for my write off, do they use a trade or private sale price? What can i likely expect.
