I agree with Lummox here. The talk has been going on for ages now. If they do bring out a VRS with the 138 TDI CR I may be interested but it all depends on the pricing. With the cost of Diesel now making an oil burner less viable for me, it will have to be good value. The original VRS was a good proposition as it was good value and unique. I don't know whether this will up the ante enough and with a 105 BHP Fabia Sport already costing more than I paid for my VRS, I reckon the new VRS , if it comes, will be a 15 grand car. I may be wrong, I will continue to wait and see:)

If anything its more than likely going to be the 1.6 CR, the chassis is basically the same as the Fab1 and that handled like a stuffed pig with the 1.9 engine up front let alone the 2.0 CR.

Yep, if they go Diesl which i suspect they will will it have the 7 speed box?

If Petrol then expect the Golf GT 158 BHP motor & 7 Speed.

Oh dear! That's another dead cat........

I'm of the opinion that VW have not been too pleased with Skoda eating into premium VW/Audi sales and so made sure that facelifts (Fabia and Octavia) are sufficiently ugly to put off those people with plenty of money.

To the same end VW is prepping the new Polo (very nice looking motor) for a hot version. I don't think they'll allow Skoda and Seat to compete directly with it. So I don't think there will be a new VRS Fabia for the foeseeable future (it would have been officially leaked by now).

Anyway the logical engine to use in a Fabia VRS would the cheapest/most compact which is probably a 1.4Tsi variant. I don't think it'll happen.

I do think however when the 1.2Tsi gets put into the Fabia range eventually (2-3 years), there will be a proper GT/sport version.

bored...
