I'm hopefully going to buy an elegance estate TDI model on Tuesday. I'll obviously check the regular things, but i just wondered if there are any problems specific to the octavias that i should look out for?

The owner said he's changed wheel bearings and front suspension (it's on 90K). Thanks for any help.

air con, door locks, window electrics, tailgate rust

Check re-circ flap behind glove box can make a soft grinding noise, mine only does it on fresh air mode but can be hard to live with, lumber support is also a weak spot. Headlamp level motors have also played up (hunting) on one of mine.

Forgot to add check out trip computer if they havn't wiped it. On trip level 2 it will give average mpg etc. for the last 1000mls i think. This history will reflect the previous owner driving style.
