Hi Ross....I recently got a tom tom go 720 for a decent price but they seem to be expensive now....the 730 is virtually the same thing and is down to £199 on amazon

TomTom GO 730 Satellite Navigation System: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

So far the 720 I have works perfect, updates easily and even works as a hands free for the mobile.....for some reason it won't do the active (traffic updates) bit through my pay as you go 02 mobile though..... but it works very well aprt from that ...also comes with a slot for a memory card which can be a good idea if you like voicews or extras

My mate has a TomTom Go910 with a load of accesories he's looking to sell.

he bought the 920 a few months back.

My origonal Sit Nag has lasted me faithfully for about 39 years .No installation problems ,maintainance negligible .Highly recommended , if useable .

Why not try installing Mrs L in passenger seat ,hand her road map (opened at right page ) - and if she gets it wrong and you argue - good excuse for abject apologies --mine's only got it wrong four times (first time was just after we were married) ,which co incided with parting with mini for something bigger nine months on:D:D.

On the other hand ................................new Sat Nav might be cheaper :):)

LOL.

My sat nag gave up navigating in spain a few years back because of something minor I'd done on the way to gatwick (think as minor as eating the last mint).

Yep - but ain't fixing the fault nice :):)

Halfords have some cheap deals on some older stuff at the moment. I got a Navman S80 which has traffic updates and built in bluetooth handsfree for around £120. I've been very pleased with it so far. The aerial for the traffic updates isn't the nicest looking thing in the world but it does the job.

I got a mailshot from Navman the other day highlighting their current sale, not sure how their new prices stack up against current store prices but the factory recon units look good value & they come with a 1year warranty, link below.
