1.4 tsi dsg driven

Hey Bassa! You said it was green!

I reckon I've had my grubby paws over your motor, (does your number plate have a BB in it?)

Very nice....and good luck with the DSG.

It's Arctic Green and like all silvers and silver shades, light does have an effect on the colour. It can appear silver green (which it is), silver or even a silver grey. The other new Octavia colour of Aqua Blue has a similar colour response to different light conditions.

Had my first drive and must say how impressed I am with the 1.4TSi DSG, even allowing for the novelty and excitement of having a new car. The torque from the 1.4 TSi is amazing and right where it is needed, the DSG indicating 6th or 7th gear even while trundling along at lowish speeds. No wonder the quoted fuel consumption figures are so good. It is very hard to believe that there is only a 1.4 beneath the bonnet in what is a far from small car. Obviously, I am unable to exploit the engine's full capability at this stage but its response from low speeds is quite incredible. The ride quality is very good on the standard 16" rims, even on the far from perfect road surfaces that most of us have to endure these days. The new 7 speed DSG is a smooth as silk with extremely quick and seemless changes, a million miles away from the nasty jerky semi autos such as Honda's i-Shift & Toyota's MMT efforts.

Overall it is a very pleasant and refined drive, nice one Skoda.

Feel a tad lonely with my new 1.4TSi DSG - anyone else got one yet, can't believe I'm the only one?

I'd be chuffed that I was the only one, you can rub it in as how good it is while others wait for theirs ;) .............................. my father in-law gets his in August so I'll put some piccy's up then

It's certainly a great car but I feel a bit like Billy Nomates on this forum.:P

I wouldn't! You're just one of the first lucky ones to get your hands on this model. A few people are still awaiting delivery, some unlucky ones with postponed delivery dates, and there's a lot of interest in this model/engine combination

Perhaps someone could make an audio recording of a PD diesel engine and let Bassa have it to play at medium to loud setting on his car's stereo. That may make him less lonley as he can pretend he has a normal Octy.

Thanks for the thought but if you don't mind I'll pass on that one. Although I follow Ipswich Town FC to some extent, that does not mean I wish to become a ' Tractor Boy' :)
