Felicia Speaker Adapters

Featured Replies

Does any one know where i can get some speaker adapters for a felicia i want to change from the normal 13cm to 17cm

What do you mean by adapters? I fitted larger speakers in mine by removing the speaker grilles on the doors,I then cut 1 inch ply wood to the same shape as the grilles and cut the hole in the middle and painted them in grey primer(pretty close match to the interior)i then fitted them using self tapping screws and some sealant to stop any rattling.they've now been in the car about 2 years with no rattle and they sound the nuts. But i know you can buy plastic speaker housings from most motor factor shops but they tend not to look that good.On mine you can't really see any of the work because the new speaker grilles cover most of it.

How easy is it to make a custom adapter what would i need?

1:- 1 inch thick plywood or MDF

2:- Electric Jigsaw

3:- Electric drill(to start the center hole)

4:- Sanding paper

5:- Grey Primer

First off remove your front speaker grilles and use them to make a template on the plywood then cut out using the jigsaw.

Next mark a circle on both blanks the size needed to fit the speakers then drill a start hole then cut out again using the jigsaw.

place the speakers in your blanks and mark where they will be mounted and using a small diameter drill, drill where you have maked.

At this point you should sand all the edges of the blanks and paint using grey primer or simillar.

Using the screws supplied with your speakers attach your blanks and speakers to your door (there should be some fixings supplied with the speakers that the screws screw into Use these as they help to reduce the risk of any vibrations)

If you need any more info i'd be happy to help.:D
